Coaching and counseling can be bedfellows, but they serve 2 different purposes.
Therapy focuses on long-term treatment and understanding deep-seated issues from your past.
In coaching, many clients see new results in just 3-5 hours of coaching. This is because coaching focuses on new and different approaches to the problem rather than more attempts that just don’t work. Some coaching clients still retain their counselor while doing both counseling and coaching.

Think of it as combining your knowledge of your destination with the coach's know-how of the best routes. This is your journey. You set the pace and frequency. Each session is broken into three 20-minute blocks, forming a full hour. While we typically meet weekly, you can adjust the schedule to fit your needs.
Your coach will meet you wherever you are. Sessions can be done over FaceTime, Zoom, phone call, or in-person. The only consideration is to hold the meeting in a quiet, comfortable spot so there are no distractions and the focus is on you.
Our coaching is action-oriented, goal-directed, and client-centered. We're all about finding solutions, setting goals, and making you feel good about your progress.
NBS Coaches are not your typical life coaches — we’re your trusted navigators on this journey. With every session, we bring these essential traits to the table, ensuring you not only reach your goals but also feel respected, heard, and supported along the way.

Kurt brings a repository of learnings and knowledge to the coaching process. He is educated in systems theory and marriage and family therapy. He is trained in hypnosis. He is married 30 years to his first wife. He has traveled to three continents and eight countries. He has three children. One reason Kurt’s clients experience greater success is because he assists every client in tapping into a mindset that will lift him or her to that higher ground, and smoother path. It’s a type of mindset that allows clients to simultaneously feel like he or she is walking on air while having his or her feet firmly planted with unshakeable determination.
The most important contributor to a client’s success and prosperity is the relationship between coach and client, the atmospheric pressure between supporter and performer. The space between client and coach that most likely produces optimal, satisfying results for the client can be described as open, truthful, accepting, sincere, strong, daring, understandable, and respectful.
I have been married since 1994. My husband and I have three adult children. For 45 years, I worked enthusiastically caring for people as a dental hygienist. When my parents moved closer to me, I retired from dental hygiene to assist them in the difficult journey that awaited them.
Now, I enter a new season, as my husband and I navigate being empty nesters — I am pursuing opportunities to engage purposefully with people as a certified life coach. I am a Certified Professional Life Coach through Baylor University’s Professional Education Program and a coaching mentoring trainee through the International Association of Recovery Coaches.
My passion in coaching is to help others recognize their strengths, set goals, and equip them to move forward through life’s challenges with peace, clarity, gained confidence, and success.
I believe in the extraordinary potential within each of us. My mission is to help you tap into your strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve goals you once thought were out of reach. With my guidance, you’ll gain the confidence and clarity to navigate your path with determination and grace.
When we work together, we can unlock the greatness within you and create a life filled with purpose, fulfillment, and success. You can achieve anything, and I am here to help you every step of the way.
My journey to becoming a life coach isn’t exactly a short story. Like many young people, I arrived at college and discovered that I was not prepared to succeed in an educational environment, partly due to growing up in a broken, chaotic home. Thankfully I had great mentors who encouraged me and helped me to overcome my disadvantages by gaining the necessary skills to successfully navigate the college environment, and beyond. I realized along the way that I am not alone and that many others confront the same challenges as I did. As I progressed through my education and career, my goal was always to find avenues to help and support others in meaningful and effective ways. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and then followed it up with graduate studies in rehabilitation counseling in order to learn how to support individuals and families in various stages of their lives.
I have been a sales executive, a pastor, and a hospice chaplain, (among other things) but in every role my passion was the people and how I could serve them. Becoming a life coach was an easy choice because it offered me the opportunity to take my education and experience and help others through encouragement, guidance, and accountability in order for them to work toward meeting their personal or professional goals.
My biggest life achievements are not simply financial prosperity or career accomplishment, but rather interpersonal ones – maintaining a healthy 37 year marriage, raising three sons to be productive members of society, and assisting others along the way. My objective as a life coach is to meet each person where they are, build a trusting relationship with them, and help them to identify their areas of struggle in order to formulate a plan to walk forward in confidence, whether that means finding their life purpose, growing spiritually, or developing healthy relationship dynamics.
